How is this procedure done and how many treatments will I need?

The CO2 Laser painlessly acts on the vaginal walls through a special scanner tool that omits microscopic laser energy beams. The laser uses thermal energy to act on the tissue layers of the vaginal walls, known as the vaginal epithelium, in microscopic columns. This thermal energy causes contraction of existing collagen fibers and stimulates neocollagenesis, which is the production of new collagen, to reorganize and balance all of the components of the vaginal mucosa and the urogenital structures. This treatment requires no anesthesia or downtime.

It is important for patients to avoid sexual intercourse for one to two weeks following treatment.
