Vitamin IVs Therapy

Why Our Vitamin IVs Feel Different: What Is Actually in the Bag Matters

September 16, 2026

I was standing at the front desk one day when a patient finished her vitamin IV and came over to talk to us.

She said she had received vitamin IVs at other clinics, but she had never felt as good afterward as she did at Recharge. Then she asked:

“What is the difference?”

Oh, I was ready for that one.

I explained that we do not simply buy a generic, mass-produced premixed vitamin vial, pour it into an IV bag and call it a day. That would be easier—and cheaper.

For more than 11 years, we have researched ingredients, evaluated pharmacies and developed our own specially selected IV formulas. We look at what goes into them, why it is there, how much is used and who prepares it.

A clear bag may look simple. What went into it is not.

The Bag May Look the Same. The Process Is Not.

Most patients see an IV bag, tubing and a comfortable chair. They cannot see how the ingredients were sourced or whether a specific form of a vitamin was chosen intentionally.

Our vitamin IV and shot formulas were not pulled from a generic premixed menu. They were developed here at Recharge by Dr. Tieche and an experienced pharmacist working together. They selected the ingredients, carefully determined the amounts and established the preparation protocols.

And that expertise did not end when the original formulas were finished. When we create a new formula or consider changing an existing one, we continue to consult with experienced pharmacists. We want knowledgeable people reviewing the details—not purchasing decisions made simply because something is cheaper or easier.

We also carefully source the individual vitamins and ingredients used in those formulas. We evaluate quality and make intentional choices about what we purchase—not decisions based only on price or convenience.

Once those formulas and protocols are established, our IV mixtures are prepared onsite at Recharge Clinic by our licensed pharmacy technician, using a sterile hood and established procedures under Dr. Tieche’s medical oversight.

But we are not limited to only the formulas we have already developed. When medically appropriate, we can also create a custom vitamin formula based on a patient’s medical history, health concerns and individual needs.

That does not mean every patient needs a custom formula. It means we are not locked into a generic, one-formula-fits-everyone approach.

Qualified people are thinking about more than whether the bag has a cute name. They are thinking about ingredients, amounts, preparation, sterility and the patient receiving it.

People are not copy-and-paste projects.

Even the Form of a Vitamin Is an Intentional Choice

Here is one example: B12.

Recharge uses methylcobalamin, a metabolically active form of vitamin B12. The National Institutes of Health identifies methylcobalamin and adenosylcobalamin as the two metabolically active B12 forms.

We make a conscious choice instead of buying whatever was most convenient. The form, amount, source and preparation of an ingredient matter. So does the patient’s health history.

Yes, I am proud of those details.

Then the Patient Said Exactly What I Was Thinking

After I explained the difference, the patient said it made sense—and that it must be why she felt so good after coming to Recharge versus the other clinics.

When she left, our front desk employee told me:

“I hear that all day long. Multiple patients tell me the same thing daily.”

I cannot tell you how proud that made me. Not because everyone will have the same response—they will not. Some people notice an immediate difference; others may not feel an obvious change.

I was proud because the extra work was being noticed. Patients do not see our ingredient invoices, research hours, pharmacy expertise, trained personnel or preparation steps. But they can tell their Recharge experience feels different.

We do not choose the cheapest shortcut and hope nobody notices. We choose what we would want going into our own bodies, even though this means higher costs and more effort and research from us.

That is not a slogan. It is how I make decisions.

I Am Not Only the CEO. I Am a Patient.

I travel a lot, and when I do, I often seek out a local vitamin IV clinic. Sometimes it is because I feel like I need an IV. Part of it is research. Usually, it is a little of both. I want to see what other clinics are offering, what ingredients they use and how I feel afterward.

At every clinic I have personally visited, I have found premixed vials, limited choices and ingredients that do not meet the standards I want for Recharge. I have yet to find another IV clinic developing and preparing its own formulas the way we do.

And honestly? I am almost always disappointed—not only by the options, but by how I feel afterward.

That firsthand comparison matters. I am not the CEO speaking in theory or approving something from a spreadsheet for other people. I regularly receive vitamin IV therapy at Recharge, and I feel the Recharge difference, too.

I am that patient.

My family and team members are patients, too. I want the standard I would choose for my own body: intentional ingredients, qualified preparation and medical professionals deciding whether an IV is appropriate—not one automatic bag for everybody.

Vitamin IV Therapy Still Has to Be Medical Care

I am excited about vitamin IV therapy, but it is not appropriate for everyone.

Patients should be evaluated based on medical history, concerns, medications, allergies and individual needs. A health condition may change whether an IV is appropriate, what should be included or whether evaluation or lab work is needed first.

IV therapy is not a substitute for nutrition, sleep or necessary medical care. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent disease. We will never promise that everyone will jump out of the chair feeling like a superhero.

Some patients report a noticeable difference. Others have a subtle experience, and some are not good candidates. Responsible care means being honest about all three.

Questions to Ask Before Getting a Vitamin IV

I have seen vitamin IV businesses operated by nurses—and even paramedics—with very little obvious physician involvement. That does not mean those people are not skilled at starting an IV. But placing an IV is not the same thing as developing a formula, deciding what should go into your body, evaluating whether it is medically appropriate and taking responsibility for your care.

Do not be afraid to ask:

  • Who is the physician responsible for the IV program, and how involved are they in the actual patient care?
  • Will a medical provider review my health history, medications, allergies and concerns before anyone starts the IV—or am I simply signing a form and choosing from a menu?
  • Who developed the formula and determined the amount of each ingredient: the clinic’s medical team or the manufacturer of a premixed vial?
  • Can the staff tell me the exact ingredients, forms and amounts in the bag—not only its catchy menu name?
  • Where do the vitamins and ingredients come from, and how does the clinic evaluate their quality?
  • Does every patient automatically receive the same premixed formula, or are there different and custom options based on individual needs?
  • Who prepares and administers the IV, and what procedures are followed for sterile handling and patient monitoring?
  • What is the plan if I have a reaction or complication? Is appropriate medical support readily available?

Those are not rude questions. They are smart questions.

The Recharge Difference Is in the Details

That front-desk conversation captured what I have spent more than a decade building. Quality comes from research, sourcing, pharmacy expertise, trained people and proper preparation—even when it costs us more.

Anyone can give an IV a catchy name. I want to know what is actually in the bag.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is in a vitamin IV at Recharge Clinic?

The contents depend on the specific formula selected. Recharge carefully sources individual vitamins and ingredients, combines them in deliberately selected amounts and can explain what is included and why. A provider helps determine which available option may be appropriate after considering the patient’s medical history and needs.

2. Does every Recharge patient receive the same vitamin IV formula?

No. Recharge does not automatically hand the exact same formula to every patient. The team offers specially developed formulas and considers the patient’s history, concerns and goals before recommending an option. Some people may need further evaluation or may not be appropriate candidates for IV therapy.

3. Why does Recharge use methylcobalamin B12?

Methylcobalamin is a metabolically active form of vitamin B12. Recharge chose it intentionally as part of its focus on ingredient selection. That does not mean it is “magic,” that it is necessary for everyone or that every patient will experience the same result.

4. Is vitamin IV therapy safe for everyone?

No medical service is right for everyone. IV therapy can have risks and should follow a medical evaluation. Health conditions, medications, allergies and individual needs can affect whether an IV is appropriate. Patients should also understand the formula, preparation process, potential side effects and monitoring plan.

5. Where can I get vitamin IV therapy from Recharge Clinic in Central Florida?

Recharge Clinic offers vitamin IV options at its Central Florida locations, including Ocala, Lady Lake/The Villages and Clermont. Contact the clinic or schedule a consultation to confirm availability and determine which option may fit your needs.
