Let’s paint a quick picture. You wake up in the morning… and you’re not tired. Not “less tired.” Actually rested. Your brain works. Your workouts feel normal again. You’re not dragging yourself through the day wondering what’s wrong with you. That’s not some wellness fantasy. That’s what happens when your iron levels are where they’re actually supposed to be.
If you’ve found this blog, you’ve probably already:
So here’s the part I’m going to say very directly: Oral iron is not enough for a lot of people. It’s slow. It’s inconsistent. And in many cases, it simply doesn’t work well enough to fix the problem. That’s not controversial. That’s physiology.
When you take iron by mouth, your body has to:
And your body is very picky about this process. Which means you absorb a small percentage, it takes months (sometimes a year) to see a small change, and results are unpredictable.
Now compare that to IV iron. It goes directly into your bloodstream. No digestion. No absorption issues. No guessing. From a medical standpoint, it’s not even close.
That’s why patients often notice changes much sooner.
I’ll tell you something I don’t usually lead with, but it’s relevant. I’ve personally dealt with low iron. And not in an abstract, “I saw it on a lab” kind of way. I had restless leg syndrome bad enough that I couldn’t sleep. Not “a little annoying.” I mean… up at night, constantly moving, not resting. When I checked my labs—low iron. Now here’s the part patients always find interesting: After one IV iron treatment, I noticed a difference that night. Could I suddenly run a marathon? No. Did it completely fix everything in one shot? Also no.
You still need a series of infusions to fully replenish levels. But that first shift? It was real. And now I know my own pattern: If my sleep starts slipping and that restless feeling comes back… I check my iron. That’s how closely tied this is!
This is where people get tripped up. They assume: “An iron infusion is an iron infusion.” Not even close. At Recharge, we use Venofer. Why? Because:
There are other iron products out there that:
We don’t cut corners on that. If we’re putting something directly into your bloodstream, it needs to be something we trust.
We don’t just hook you up to an IV and call it a day. There’s a process—and it’s intentional.
Not just “iron is low.” We look at ferritin, iron saturation, and the full picture.
We sit down and go through:
Not rushed. Not surface-level.
Some patients need supplements. Some need IV therapy. Some need both. There’s no template.
Let’s be clear here: This is not a one-and-done treatment. Iron deficiency takes time to correct properly. Most patients need a series of infusions to:
We track your labs. We adjust as needed. We don’t guess.
When iron levels come up to optimal ranges, patients often notice:
This isn’t hype. Iron is directly involved in:
If it’s low, you feel it. If it’s corrected, you feel that too.
We see patients in Ocala, Lady Lake (The Villages) and Clermont every day who are:
And they want a process that is fast to schedule, straightforward and not filled with unnecessary insurance barriers… That is exactly what we have built.
This is one of the most common questions we get. Short answer: we don’t bill insurance directly at Recharge Clinic. But that doesn’t mean you can’t use it. Many of our patients submit their visits and iron infusions to their insurance for reimbursement, and a lot of them do get money back depending on their plan. The difference is—you’re not waiting weeks for approvals or dealing with endless hoops just to feel better. We keep the process fast, straightforward, and transparent, and if you want to use your insurance on the back end, you absolutely can.

They’ll help you understand why this happens in the first place.
If you feel like something is off… don’t ignore it. If you’re exhausted, foggy, not sleeping well, or just not functioning the way you should…There’s usually a reason. And low iron is one of the most common—and most fixable—causes we see.
You don’t have to guess your way through this.
